Heard (born April 22, 1986) is an American actress and model who has appeared in a number of films and television series. She was a student at St. Michael's Catholic Academy in Austin, Texas, until her junior year, when she dropped out to pursue a professional career in Hollywood. A number of television episodes and films have included her in supporting parts. Greta Matthews, the character she played on the CW television program Hidden Palms, is possibly her most well-known performance. The film, All The Boys Love Mandy Lane, in which she stars as the titular character, premiered at the 2006 Toronto International Film Festival and was released in theatres the following year. She has also been on the cover of Maxim magazine and starred as the girlfriend of Seth Rogen's character in Pineapple Express, among other roles. In the cinematic version of Bret Easton Ellis' book The Informers, she plays a character named Sarah. In the city of Austin, Texas, Heard was born and reared. The state employs Paige's mother Paige as an Internet researcher, and David is her father's contractor. Heard was involved in the theatrical department at her high school and performed in advertisements and political campaigns in her hometown.
Her closest buddy was killed in a vehicle accident when she was sixteen years old. Regarding the accident, Heard expressed his thoughts "There is no way to put into words how extremely difficult that experience was for me. You suddenly understand that tomorrow may not arrive. Now I live by the idea, "Today is all I have." It has been my life mantra." The former Catholic, who was reared in a Catholic household, now identifies as an atheist. Her first serious lover, who exposed her to the works of Russian-born atheist Ayn Rand, came into her life after the death of a close friend of hers. Her works, adds Heard, "have all been read by me." "My admiration for her beliefs has grown exponentially since then. It has always been enough for me to be by my own side." With her high school diploma in hand, she left for New York City to pursue a modelling career – something she found dissatisfying and uninteresting. "When it comes to modelling, there is no true skill involved. Acting is a serious endeavor with significant implications." She then relocated to Los Angeles in order to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
She finished filming The River Why and The Joneses in late 2008, and both films will be released later this year as independent movies on Netflix. It was during the Sundance Film Festival in January 2009 when The Informers had their world debut. There were largely unfavorable comments on the website. Announcing his participation in three new projects in early February, Heard also revealed his participation in three more projects this month. His little part in Zombieland, which is set to be released on October 9, 2009, will be that of the object of Jesse Eisenberg's devotion who transforms into a zombie in the film. A few months later, she'll make an appearance in John Carpenter's film The Ward. According to Carpenter, "I am particularly delighted to be working with Amber because I am certain that she will provide a compelling center performance." Arum Diary, in which she stars with Johnny Depp, will begin production in Puerto Rico in March of this year. Scarlett Johansson and Keira Knightley were reportedly considered for the part, but Heard was the winner. The film And Soon the Darkness, in which she will feature and produce, will be released in 2010
